Wig Cap Size Guide — Stop Guessing, Start Measuring

Cap labels such as “small,” “average” and “large” are not standardized across sellers. Record your measurements, compare all of them with the exact product chart, and check adjustment hardware and return exclusions before ordering.

The Three Measurements That Matter

Circumference (the main one)

Wrap a soft measuring tape around your head, starting at your front hairline, going behind your ears, around the nape of your neck, and back to the front. This is your head circumference. Illustrative common chart range: 21.5-22.5 inches (54.5-57 cm).

Ear to Ear (across the top)

Measure from the top of one ear, across the top of your head, to the top of the other ear. This helps assess cap width. Illustrative common chart range: 13-14 inches.

Front to Nape

Measure from your front hairline, over the top of your head, down to the nape of your neck. Illustrative common chart range: 14-15 inches.

Cap Size Chart

These ranges illustrate one common sizing pattern; they are not a universal standard. Use the chart supplied for the exact wig as the purchase reference.

Size Circumference Ear to Ear Front to Nape
Petite / Small 20-21.5" 12-13" 13-14"
Average / Medium 21.5-22.5" 13-14" 14-15"
Large 22.5-23.5" 14-15" 15-16"

How to Compare Brand Listings

Fit cannot be inferred reliably from a brand name. Product lines, cap versions and variants can differ, so use these checks on the current listing:

UNice — Confirm the exact circumference, ear-to-ear and front-to-nape chart, then check how the listed drawstring or band adjusts.
Ashimary — Verify the selected product's cap measurements and the listed strap system; contact the seller if the chart omits a dimension you need.
Megalook (Amazon) — Match your measurements to the exact Amazon variant and seller chart; do not transfer sizing assumptions between listings.
Cypha (Amazon) — Check the exact cap dimensions, elastic-band description, seller identity and return policy before selecting a size.

If you cannot measure: Delay the purchase or ask the seller for fit guidance rather than assuming “average.” Adjustment hardware can fine-tune some caps, but it cannot guarantee that circumference, width, depth and ear-tab placement will fit.

Adjustable Wig Cap Liner

A liner may change grip or perceived volume, but it cannot correct every sizing problem. Check compatibility and return terms for both the wig and liner.
